Dieing is No Fun, Dawg

A friend of a friend died this past weekend at the age of 21. I learned this via myspace. It’s weird to see death in such an environment, because for most of us it’s an occurrence very much removed from our daily existence. It’s even stranger when I look at the kid’s page and it says he logged in Friday, the day before he died. A bright, smiling photo still sits on the profile page. And there it will sit as a silent and perpetual obituary until myspace takes it down.

Death is such an odd thing in the digital age….

If you haven’t heard of it before, check out mydeathspace.com. It’s an amazingly difficult, yet compelling study of what life and death in the 21st-century looks like.

  2. First, I believe it is an actual, non-joke site, based on this, and then this, which is clearly a parody site.

That aside…wow. I mean, if dinosaurs are alive today, why couldn’t the “evolutionists” just go kill one and assemble its bones in a museum? Why would they go to the trouble to create fake bones? And why is that the worst picture of a dinosaur I’ve ever seen? It’s a freaking tree!

Man, this site makes me feel ashamed of not drinking coffee. Makes me feel like a bitter, God-less butterfly…

Oh, no, wait, it IS a joke–just a very, very good one! Check out the Wikipedia article:

  5. Jake, what the hell? I keep trying to post my comment and it doesn’t work. Let me try without any HTML, lousy website…

    (1) I said I thought it wasn’t a parody.

    (2) I said it actually is; look up Objective: Ministries on Google and you’ll find a Wikipedia article about it.
